Blurb below. Or check out the Sci-Fi/Futuristic Romance page for a link to the except.
In the lawless fringes of deep space, pirate Tia Sen inspires both respect and fear. She has a rep for being hard as plascrete, tough as Amalan leather, and as strong as she is beautiful, but she has a secret. For years she has courted death, freeing children captured during raids. When she rescues a brave mechanic from a nearly fatal beating, she risks more than just her heart.
Emotionally scarred by the murders of his wife and unborn child, Rork Al’Ren wants nothing more than to eradicate every bit of pirate scum in the galaxy. But when his undercover mission goes sour, he finds himself Tia’s personal slave and falling in love with the very person he’s sworn to destroy.
But Rork doesn’t have the luxury of love, a powerful new weapon threatens the stability of the universe and if he can’t convince Tia to surrender it, the Union of Planets will be overwhelmed and war will rock the galaxy.
Congrats on print release day, Karin! Yay! Your trailer is very cool.
But I need to know, if pirates say “Arrgh!” what do space pirates say? “Stargh”?
So happy for you that now it’s finally in 3D.
Congrats on your print release. That is a very exciting day. I wish you loads of sales;)

Excellent trailer, Karin. Nice premise too. Don’t see too much SFR, it’s mostly paranormal. Look forward to reading your book.
Thanks, Bart! Hope you enjoy! 🙂
Karin
This sounds like a good story and if I don’t win it I will be on the lookout for my own copy soonest 😀 Meanwhile I shall be reading your freebie on Samhellion to keep my reading addiction fed.
Thanks, Ilona!
Two minor characters from STARJACKED take the starring roles in the freebie, but you don’t need to read STARJACKED first. I hope you’ll like them both!
🙂

Checked some of the local bookstores to see if they have it–didn;t see it two Borders and two Barnes & Noble I looked it, alas. Sorry for the negative report…
I guess I’m in the minority about the cover, naked shiny-body torso parts images give the squicks, and always have done so. Makes me look -away- and not -at- a book. (As opposed to e.g. Alicia Austin R-rated and X-rated nudity artwork, which isn’t shiny-skinned torso parts…. my art tastes have been relatively constant over the years, sheeny skin such as in Rowena Morrill covers, I’ve never liked (a couple of her paintings wound up in “Saddam’s Love Nest” which utterly horrified her….)
I’ve been seeing what I regard as “stealth” SFR/futuristics lately, including Rion by Susan Kearney? and Dark Stranger by Susan Sizemore–covers that look like contemporary-setting book on in Middle America or some such, with no hint of a spaceship or SF/futuristic content whatsoever. I suppose it’s to avoid lighting off automatic “Science fiction? Yetch!” reactions from a significant percentage of romance readers… but it misses the audiences who the contemporary setting covers and/or naked body sections say ‘avoid” to…. hard to find something that doesn’t bore/annoy some part of the market segment the -text- would appeal to…. (covers I like–the ones Roc has been doing for Diana Pharoah Francis for the Crosspointe books and for Bitter Night (I think tht’s the title of her latest book).
Thanks for commenting, Paula. It looks like the smaller B & N’s aren’t going carry it. Thank God for Amazon. I don’t know what authors from smaller presses did in he “old” days! *g*
Karin
